Center for Media Literacy is a pioneering educational organization that provides leadership, professional development and evidence-based educational resources. Using a framework to access, analyze, evaluate, create and participate with media content, CML works to help citizens develop critical thinking and media production skills needed to participate fully in the 21st century media culture.

In loving memory of our friend and advisor, Tessa Jolls, who helped inform Getting Better Foundation’s strategy of using media literacy to build trust through the truth. Tessa will live on in our hearts and our work. (July 25, 1949 – March 31, 2025)
Tessa Jolls was President and CEO of the Center for Media Literacy (U.S.), and Founder of the Consortium for Media Literacy. In 2022, she authored a Fulbright-NATO Report, “Media Literacy as Strategic Defense,” as part of a Fulbright-NATO Security Studies Award. She was a Contributing Scientist at UCLouvain and a Regional Representative on UNESCO’s MIL Alliance’s International Steering Committee.
