Are more children attending school today than in the past?

Yes, dramatically so. In 1950, less than half of children worldwide were enrolled in school. Today, more than 90% of primary-age children attend, according to UNICEF. Global campaigns for universal education, government investments, and NGOs have transformed access. The gender gap in schooling has also narrowed significantly, with girls now making up almost half of global students. Challenges remain in conflict zones and underfunded regions, but the evidence shows progress is undeniable. Media literacy helps us avoid narratives that exaggerate setbacks without acknowledging the extraordinary improvements. Fact-based truth: global education access has grown exponentially.
