Frank Baker, Getting Better Foundation Advisory Board Member, Honored at Anne Frank Awards 2026 with Leadership in Arts and Letters Award
The Getting Better Foundation is proud to share that Advisory Board member and author Frank W. Baker has been honored at the Anne Frank Awards 2026 Ceremony with the Leadership in Arts and Letters Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to Holocaust education and storytelling.
The award was presented during the Anne Frank Center’s bi-annual ceremony held on February 9, 2026 at the University of South Carolina campus. The Center is one of only three Anne Frank Centers in the world dedicated to advancing education and preserving Anne Frank’s legacy.

Frank Baker received the distinction for his impactful work, including his book We Survived The Holocaust: The Bluma and Felix Goldberg Story, which documents survivor testimony and helps bring Holocaust history to new generations through accessible, educational narrative.
The ceremony recognized educators and students from across and beyond South Carolina for their contributions to remembrance and education. Among the honorees was Ronald Leopold, Executive Director of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, who received the award for Outstanding Stewardship of Anne’s Legacy.
Reflecting on the recognition, Baker shared that he was deeply surprised and honored to be named the first recipient of the Anne Frank Award for Leadership in Arts and Letters, and expressed gratitude to the family, friends, and supporters who attended the ceremony and continue to advance the Center’s educational mission.
Frank Baker’s work aligns closely with the Getting Better Foundation’s commitment to media literacy, historical understanding, and responsible storytelling. His recognition underscores the importance of preserving survivor stories and strengthening educational efforts that combat misinformation and historical distortion.
