Is inequality in education improving or worsening?
Both trends exist. Globally, gaps in primary school access have narrowed, with nearly universal enrollment. However, inequalities remain at secondary and higher levels, where wealth, geography, and gender still play roles. For example, rural children in low-income countries are far less likely to finish school than urban peers. The good news is that international efforts like UNESCO’s “Education for All” have made significant progress in narrowing divides. Media literacy helps people interpret education data fairly, recognizing both progress and setbacks. Evidence proves that inequality is shrinking overall, though continued focus is needed to close gaps completely.
